Acrobatic Gymnastics

Athletes in these classes will be learning Acrobatics gymnastics, a type of gymnastics which incorporates tumbling, flexibility, balance and teamwork which are all assembled together with the execution of dance. They will learn the fundamentals such as static holds, leaps, turns, walkovers and more with the use of air tracks, tumble tracks, floor, pegs and more to enhance their abilities. At the higher levels, they will be building strength, flexibility and proper techniques with focus on partner work in order to do partner lifts.

Acro Competitive

Ages: 6-18

Acrobatic gymnasts at the competitive level would be combining elements of acrobatics, (such as difficult balance poses, flips, twists and landings), with choreographed dance and tumbling moves. These heart-stopping routines demonstrate the courage, flexibility, strength, power and poise of the athletes. The routines are divided in categories as: individual, pairs and groups (trio or quartet). They would also compete in xcel blocks division with equipment called pegs, challenging their balancing skills and allowing them to practice their skills used in towers and pyramids. They would perform these routines at a minimum of 2 competitions per year, in which they would try to qualify for the provincial championships. Additionally, athletes who are 6-7 years of age would be competing in the demo, ages 8 and higher would be competing as a provincial-level athlete.
